Beach Bums

Phra Nang Beach, Krabi
Our last day in Krabi (Thursday) was spent on the beach and it was wonderful!  We were all pretty tired from our excursions the previous days and we wanted to just enjoy the beach before going back to India.  Phra Nang beach was the perfect spot to do nothing for the day except stare at the crystal clear water and occasionally take a swim.  Sounds nice, doesn't it?

The beach was more secluded than the previous one we had been to and this was our option for lunch unless we wanted to eat at the hotel restaurant.  We didn't even look for that - Thailand has good street food, so we assumed they had good boat food as well.  They had plenty of things to choose from and it was really cheap which made it even better.  And...don't forget the fresh watermelon shakes they made right on the boat.  Delicious!  We met this girl from Canada that was traveling around SE Asia on her own and she decided to get something to eat from the boat as well.  Why am I telling you this, you ask?  Well.. she claimed to have traveled a lot and usually goes by herself, but also said she would have never eaten from this boat if it wasn't for us trying it too.  We didn't quite understand that because I'd rather eat from a boat (they were on every beach) where we can see them making it than from a stand on the street where it's sitting out for who knows how long.  Ha... amateur!  Or maybe our systems are used to eating almost anything.  Anyway..the food was actually really good and no one got sick so if you ever go to Krabi, don't be afraid to eat boat food.

There were also a few...and by few I mean a lot, of monkeys on this beach that kept everyone entertained.  This little guy pictured above made a bold move for someones bananas on the beach towel and was successful.  I mean, who just has bananas lying around on a beach towel when there are monkeys around?  Duh.

Corn on the cob, fried chicken or bananas, anyone??

This beach also had a few small cave areas on the end.  The picture above is from inside the cave looking out to the beach.  There was also hiking on this island, but we didn't find that out until we were there and all we had were flip flops.  I doubt that would have been easy so we opted to just stay on the beach.  Maybe next time, right?
