1 week down...

Fresh mini bananas

...roughly 23 more to go.  That almost sounds better than saying we're here for 6 months.

It rained a lot this past weekend so unfortunately, I don't have much to update you on.  We had plans, but decided to go to the mall instead since the rain didn't look like it was going to let up anytime soon.

Inside the mall is a movie theater and we just happen to walk by 30 minutes before the movie Grown  Ups started.  Perfect.  It cost Jason and I a total of $6 to see it.  It was a bit different than the US - we had to walk through a metal detector (which we also walked through one to get into the mall) and the security guy wanted me to "deposit" my camera with him.  No thanks.  I kept telling him no and that I wouldn't take any pictures.  Eventually he just started to ignore us and we continued walking.  They assigned us seats which I thought was odd.  For some reason, everyone there was in the back two rows.  They must not have wanted us to spread out.  They also have an intermission so you can get more cokes and popcorn.  It was less then $2 for a combo of both, but we declined given we just ate lunch.  Maybe next time.  The movie was good... and funny.  If I get really bored, I'd probably even go back to watch it again.

The (not so) Supermarket
One of the first things I do when arriving in a new place is find a big grocery.  There is one in the mall that is similar to the one we had in Jamnagar, India but it lacked a few things we needed.  You might find this funny, but something I always pack for India are cans of tuna.  It's easy to make tuna salad on those days you can't get out (raining).  I usually bring the extras, but this time decided it'd be easy to find mayo.  Wrong.  I finally found it today in this small store just down the street.  There was only one jar so maybe it knew I was looking for it?

Boats along the Boardwalk

These fine gentlemen (they didn't stare at me like I'm some crazy, foreign women with a shirt that says "Please Stare") were frying up bananas and other things that I couldn't understand.  They were trying to get me to sample some of their cooking.  I politely declined.

That's so funny about the mayo because we have TONS in the grocery store here! I thought it was like an Indian staple! Maybe I can send you some!
