All Shook Up

Some were all shook up over the minor earthquake this morning.  I had walked to the laundromat about 10:30 (9:30am for most reading this) and was just standing there when I felt it.  Nothing big... didn't last the long, maybe 2 seconds? Across the street, they are working on a tall apartment building so all the guys were yelling...who knows what...  at the guy on top of the crane (wayyyyy up there).  I'm sure he got all shook up.  The two ladies in the laundromat were all freaked out - literally running outside and then hands shaking and could barely write me a receipt.  It really wasn't that bad, but I guess they are on alert since the last big one.  I was rather excited to feel it.  They felt it at the refinery too because Jason sent me a text message (on my Chile phone..not US phone, so don't try to text me all at once, people! ha).

This afternoon, Vito (the "roadhusband") and I went to get lunch and to a bar to watch the Chile soccer match against Spain.  That was officially the first major soccer event I've watched on TV.  It was fun and even though they lost 2-1, they still advance so everyone was in good spirits.  Above is a picture of people celebrating in the bar after the game.  Almost everyone had a flag and hats and were chanting their song.  I still don't know it...but it might come in handy if they make it to the world cup.  Lunch was interesting as we found this random restaurant with no English menu.  The food smelled good and the lady was doing everything she could to get us to understand her - even bringing out a steak and saying "carne" which means beef.  We ordered and it was great!  I had chicken and rice which came with salad and soup and it was very good.  I'm sure we will end up back there.   Much better than it being a crappy food place where we have no idea what we are eating!
