Red, White and Blue

Q: What do you do if you're in another country for Independence Day?

A: Drink red and white wine and order Dominos Pizza.

It was a rainy evening so no one felt like walking anywhere for dinner and plenty of pizza places deliver.   We asked the concierge guy to help us order and of course he recommended something local.  I took the paper menu because it looked good but we were all rather set on ordering from and American company to celebrate.  Pizza Hut was out of peperoni (what pizza place runs out of a staple menu item?) so Dominos it was.  We started off with a bottle of nice wine and had gotten some boxed wine as a joke...  I mean, Chile is known for their wine so we were sure that it was going to be good.  Maybe not so much. Above is a picture Jason took of one of the .5 ltr boxes.  They looked like big juice boxes so we had to get them - basically for sole purpose of a photo prop.

 Barbara and I

We just hung out in the lower lobby of the hotel, ate our American pizza, drank some wine and had a good time reflecting on America's freedom....  or talking about work and other random things.  This is the first year we have not seen some sort of Fireworks but it's a small price to pay to be celebrating in Chile.

Happy 4th of July!
