This one, just because.

Lavanderia

I caught some slack today because I didn't update.  Apparently some people prefer daily blogs.  This one is mostly pictures again about our daily routine, but here ya go:

Above is the laundry place we go to.  They speak no English, but we manage to get by with hand motions and my broken Spanish.  Luckily, I had the hotel call to find out if we pick it up same day, next day or what their deal was.  It's same day for anyone that needs a laundry place in Vina del Mar. They are nice and clothes are clean - that's all that matters.  They know us by now since we are there at least twice a week.  This is also the place where I felt the earthquake and they were freaking out.  Just FYI.

Next... our favorite "hole in the wall" restaurant.  We nicknamed it that because we could never remember the actual name of the restaurant.  One of the first few days we were here, Vito and I went exploring.  I enjoy walking into random places to see what's on the menu.  We walk in here...no English, of course.  The lady is extra nice and bringing us raw meat on a plate to explain what they could fix.  We sat down because it must be good if she's trying this hard.  I ordered pollo.. (chicken)....  Vito ordered carne....(meat or a beef fillet).  It was excellent and even came with ensalada (salad) and soupa (soup), arroz (rice), pure [pronounced with a 'aaaaa' sound at the end, whatever that is] (mashed potatoes) or papas fritas (french fries).  Just one potato/carb... not all three.  She knows that we love the soup so much that they even give us extra.   They try to communicate with us and the food is like a homecooked meal so we always go back.

This is the famous Vina del Mar clock.  If you 'google' this city, apparently the  flower clock is one of the main attractions.  I told you earlier that this isn't a tourist city.  I guess we have to take what we can get, huh?  Today, I just realized that we could be leaving soon and I didn't have a picture of this famous clock..  so here it is.

Below is a picture of the playa (beach) right outside of our hotel.  It's normally packed during the summer (winter for you) months.  Right now, it is usually packed with teenagers making out.  Seriously.  The beach must be the place to have a little fun....but it seems when I took this shot, there was just a big group of guys playing a game.

Are you glad I used a lot of (   )  in this post?  At least you know a bit of Espanol (Spanish) now.

Ciao!

Its about time you learned some Spanish :)

Angela -- I noticed that your "daily" posts aren't actually daily posts -- Am I imagining this?

Good one Meagan :) She's a slacker.....and she's to blame for getting me hooked on blogging!
