Stormy Weather

I thought I should update since I sent an email with links to our pictures and my blog.  Yesterday was VERY stormy!!  That's putting it lightly.  No lighting... just strong winds, rain, thunder, hail (I think... small) and major waves.  I was planning on spending the day in....duh, who would want to get out in that?....  but another guy here on the crew had the day off and wanted to go to the mall for a certain restaurant.  So, off we go.  It took a bit to get a taxi.  The lights went out for a bit while in the lobby of the hotel.




Staff were on their walky talkies and kept going to look outside.  The waves were massive and I could barely open the balcony door to take a picture.  When we were leaving the mall and trying to get a taxi back, the temp had dropped dramatically and there was debris everywhere.  Tree limbs, umbrellas that people lost, trash and even a few signs from buildings - vinyl signs, not like huge, metal signs.  Streets were flooded and a few stop lights were out as well.  They don't treat those as a 4-way stop - they just inch their way out and go.  I guess whatever works for them.  When we got back to the hotel, we found out there were hurricane force winds in the storm.  Not surprising.  The smaller trees were almost laying sideways, yet we still took a taxi for lunch.  I had every intention of ordering room service and watching the weather, but I also wanted to join the group for lunch.  Below is a picture of the sunset (from our balcony) after the storm.  

And below is a picture Vito took of me while we were out walking today.  The waves were still higher than normal and a wave splashed over the railing shorty after this picture.  It was a beautiful day out though.
