On our walk from the school to find a tuk-tuk, we came across these big and plump corn fed cows.  Actually I'm not sure what they eat besides trash and grass.  When we were in Jamnagar 2 years ago and Panipat 1 year ago (see a pattern here?) the cows roamed free wherever they desired.  Cars went around them as they crossed in the middle of the street and sometimes took a break to lie down smack dab in the lane of traffic.  Cochin is too big of a city and they eat beef here so there aren't many cows roaming around.

Taking this picture also reminded me of Diu, a tiny island off the coast of Gujarat (the state that Jamnagar is in) that we visited two years ago.  I passed this amazing display of cow patties while riding in a tuk tuk.  This is probably one of my favorite pictures only because the way it's set up.  The thing I don't like...it's a bit blurry because we were riding in a tuk-tuk.  They use cow patties - actual cow poop - for fuel after they dry or can line the foundation of a house as insect repellent. Notice how you can still see hand prints?  Next time you complain about your job, remember that someone in India is making patties out of cow dung.
