Tuesday was Krishnan's birthday so of course we celebrated the only way we know how to in India on a "dry day" = a birthday song in Spanish, cake and beer. Every first day of the month in Kerala is a "dry day" so no alcohol sales anywhere..not even in hotels because apparently employers give out their paycheck on the 1st and most men will go spend it all at the liquor store so they closed them. ....But we just happened to have a few bottles of beer lying around.
