Evansville... you are not alone. Gas prices went up here again this past week. I don't know how much it is now, but I do know that it went up 5 Rs a liter. Due to the tax increase, autos planned a strike for today. No buses, rickshaws or taxi were allowed on the road from 6am - 6pm. Normally, the guys wouldn't have gone into work, but one of the managers from Delhi was in for meetings so they went in.......at 5:15am. Occasionally, the strikes can get violent so their options were to either leave early and be at work by 6am or take an armed and guarded refinery bus that was making a stop not far from here at the normal time of 7:30. They opted to leave early and just have a really long day at work. The person reliving them wouldn't be in until 6:30 or so because his driver also couldn't be out driving before 6pm. What a mess.
So since I couldn't leave the hotel today, I worked on the little sock monkey for London - the famous roadbaby! The sewing on it isn't great and I don't have buttons for the eyes yet. I was following instructions for a large, normal size sock monkey so the measurements were a bit off. I took a lot of pictures along the way so I can teach Angela when we get back...if we ever get back.
